Research based development of teaching

Research based development of teaching

In this workshop we will discuss the possibilities and benefits of research-based development of teaching. I will introduce an example of how a relatively young research field, computing education research, has evolved over the last few decades. Through this example we will discuss topics such as motivations for doing educational research to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, practical ideas how to do research on teaching related topics, contributions one might expect to make, and the power of the research community.
